Basketball Operation
Default Basketball Settings are adjusted using the Game Setup menu options.
Timer Functions
START/STOP: Starts and stops the main timer. In basketball, Shot Time only runs while the timer is running.
Up/Down: Change the direction of the timer. Default direction is count down.
Edit Time: Key in the new time followed by ENTER, For tenths of a second, key in five (5) digits. For example, key in 00524 ENTER to change the clock to 0:52.4.
Reset Time: Resets the time back to the default Period Time specified in the Game Settings menu.
Half Reset: Enters intermission mode (shotclocks do not run) and resets the clock to the intermission time. Press Reset Time to exit intermission mode. Team fouls will be reset to 0 and TOL will be reset to the default value. If game setup option T.O. Reset @ Half = No, TOL count will not be reset.
Shot Clock Resets (1 & 2): Resets the shotclock to the default times specified in the Game Settings menu.
Edit Shot Clock: Edit the shot clock to a new time.
Tip
To remove the Shotclock from the console display, set both shot times to ‘0’ in Game Settings menu.
Scoring
Both Home and Guest have quick score keys (+3 +2 +1 -1) plus an edit score key.
Edit the score using the number pad and the ENTER key. CLEAR key is used to exit edit mode without changes.
When game setting “Ask Player Stats?” is set to YES, the console will ask for a player number who scored the points. Key in the jersey number and press ENTER.
Possession
Possession arrow is toggled by pressing the POSS key.
Reset possession arrow to undefined can be done two different ways:
Press the CLEAR key when not editing any field.
Start a new game from the Game Setup menu, option 0.
Period
Toggle to the next period by pressing the Period +1 key. Total number of periods is configured in the Game Setup menu.
After the last period, a ‘0’ is displayed for overtime.
Bonus & Fouls
Bonus/Double Bonus: Bonus and Double Bonus are automatically set by the values in Game Setup.
Using default settings, Bonus will light after the clock has started and the 6th Team Foul is committed.
Double bonus will light after 9 team fouls.
Tip
To turn off the Auto Bounus feature, set “Bonus Threshold” and “Double Bonus” values to 0 in the Game Setup menu.
Team Foul +1: Adds a team foul to the total fouls for that team.
Edit Team Fouls: Edit the team fouls value.
Player Foul +1: Adds a player foul and team foul. Console will ask for a player number. Key in the jersey number and press ENTER.
Tip
To blank the PLAYER FOUL section of the scoreboard, press the Player Foul +1 key followed by CLEAR key.
Time Out
Time Out -1: Remove a timeout from the team TOL count and open the Timeout Timer.
Edit Time Out: Edit the number of timeouts remaining for the Home or Guest team.
Timeout Timer: When the game clock is stopped, open the Timeout Timer to time an official’s timeout, between quarter time, or some other non-game time value.
Player Foul Statistics
To display a list of players who have committed fouls, press the HOME FOUL STATS or GUEST FOUL STATS key to display that team’s foul information. Use the UP/LEFT ARROW and DOWN/RIGHT ARROW keys to move to next or previous pages of players.
To edit the player number or foul count, move the > pointer to the item in the list to be modified and press SELECT YES/NO key to choose that item. A cursor _ will be displayed left of the field to be modified.
To change the player number, key in the new player number for those fouls when the cursor is left of the PLAYER value. Press ENTER to move to the FOULS field. Key in the number of fouls if changes are required and press ENTER to commit the change.
To exit without making any changes, press the CLEAR key.
Player Score Statistics
Player scoring statistics are tracked when the Game Settings “Ask Player Stats?” or “Stats Only Mode?” are set to YES.
To display the home players scoring statistics on the console screen, press the HOME SCORE STATS key. Use the arrow keys to move to next or previous pages of player score statistics.
To edit a player number or score, arrow to point at that player number and press the SELECT YES/NO key. A cursor will be displayed left of the player number. To change the player number, key in the new number and press ENTER.
To edit the player’s points, simply press ENTER and the cursor will move to the POINTS field. Key in the new points value and press ENTER to commit the change.
To exit without making any changes, press the CLEAR key.
Player In/Out
Use the Home and Guest PLAYER IN/OUT keys to enter player numbers who are currently in the game and remove players exiting the game. The player numbers in the game will have their Fouls and Points statistics added to the Player Stats data packet and displayed on All American Scoreboards Stat Panels.
Press PLAYER IN/OUT for the team to be changed and enter a list of players to put into the game, pressing ENTER after each player. When the list of players entering the game is complete, press the ENTER key again. Next, key in the player numbers of all players exiting the game, pressing ENTER after each player. When the list of players exiting the game is complete, press the ENTER key again to commit the changes.
To see which players are in the game, press the SCORE STATS key or FOUL STATS for the desired team. Use arrows to move through the list of players. On rows Where an Asterisk ‘*’ is displayed, those players are in the game. Players without an asterisk are out of the game.
Stats Only Mode
Stats only mode is a special mode that can be activated by setting “Stats Only Mode” to YES in Game Settings. While in this mode only the SCORE STATS keys, FOUL STATS keys, PLAYER IN/OUT keys, Player Foul +1 keys, quick score + or - keys, GAME SETUP Key, SYSTEM SETUP key, SELECT key, Arrow Keys, Horn key, and Numberpad keys are active and the rest are disabled.
The quick score keys will not be able to affect a team’s score. Instead, the quick score keys will ask for the scoring player’s number and add/subtract the score input from their stats.
Stats only mode can be deactivated by setting “Stats Only Mode?” to NO in Game Settings.
